Hydrolyzed Proteins (Peptides) and their Derivatives
Promois is the trademark for peptides and their derivatives obtained through hydrolysis of natural proteins.
They are raw materials for cosmetics with an excellent conditioning effect that moisturizes, protects, and repairs skin and hair, and are gentle to human and friendly to the environment. It has different functions in every origin and derivative.
Classification by Protein Origin
The various proteins sources of Promois products are pea, soybean, wheat, rice, sesame, pearl shell, silk, keratin, collagen, fish collagen and milk.
-
Soybean
Among plant-derived proteins, soybean especially gives softness and smoothness to the hair.
- Standard type
- Cationized type
- Acylated type
- Silylated type
-
Wheat
Among plant-derived proteins, wheat especially gives softness to the hair.
- Standard type
- Cationized type
- Silylated type
-
Pea; Botanical Keratin
Among plant-derived proteins, pea especially gives body and stiffness to the hair.
- Standard type
-
Rice; Botanical Silk
Among plant-derived proteins, rice especially gives slippery smoothness to the hair.
- Standard type
-
Sesame
Among plant-derived proteins, sesame especially gives strength to the hair.
- Silylated type
-
Pearl
Pearl (Conchiolin) contains many small amino acids, therefore it forms smooth coating film and gives shine.
- Standard type
-
Silk
Fibroin contains many amino acids which form β-sheet structure, therefore it has good coating ability and gives gloss appearance and smooth texture. Sericin contains many amino acids having a hydroxyl group, which gives moisture and smooth texture.
- Standard type
- Cationized type
- Acylated type
- Ethyl esterified type
- Silylated type
-
Keratin
Keratin peptide is a hydrolysate of keratin which is a main component of hair. It adsorbs to the hair highly and gives body and stiffness.
- Standard type
- Cationized type
- Acylated type
- Silylated type
-
Collagen
Collagen contains many amino acids having a hydroxyl group, therefore it has an excellent moisturizing property and gives softness and smoothness to the hair.
- Standard type
- Cationized type
- Acylated type
- Silylated type
-
Fish Collagen
Fish collagen is suitable for not only hair care but also skin care due to its low odor and less color.
- Standard type
- Acylated type
- Silylated type
-
Milk
Milk (Casein) contains many acidic amino acids, therefore it gives an excellent moisturizing ability.
- Standard type
- Cationized type
Classification by chemical modifying
In addition to the normal peptides, the Promois series also include the peptide derivative series.
The peptide derivative series is a range of raw materials with special properties brought about by chemically modifying the peptide to make it suitable for incorporation into cosmetics.
-
Standard type
A peptide obtained by hydrolysis of natural proteins. Different origins of protein have each efficacy, therefore you can choose most suitable one as you want.
- Soybean
- Wheat
- Pea
- Rice
- Pearl
- Silk
- Keratin
- Collagen
- Fish collagen
- Milk
-
Silylated type
A derivative bonded with a silyl group. It protects and repairs hair, and improves its texture by a heat enhancing effect that results in the formulation of a film on the hair in response to heat from hair dryers or hair ironing.
- Soybean
- Wheat
- Sesame
- Silk
- Keratin
- Collagen
- Fish collagen
Heat Active
The heat active sites of SIG series react to heat and form a film on the hair surface, which improves hair strength.
-
Cationized type (Q/CAQ/SAQ series)
A derivative bonded with a quaternary ammonium group in order to enhance the adsorption to the anionic damaged hair. It is suitable for incorporation into hair conditioner and treatment formulations.
- Soybean
- Wheat
- Silk
- Keratin
- Collagen
- Milk
-
Acylated type (Promois E/E-118 series)
A derivative bonded with a fatty acid and it is devided into washing type and conditioning type. E series, which has surfactant ability, is safe for skin and hair, and it is suitable for detergent having hair repairing effect. E-118 series, which has solubility of many solvent used for cosmetic, is suitable for cosmetic without water.
- Soybean
- Silk
- Keratin
- Collagen
- Fish collagen
- Milk
CMC repair
E-118 series has a similar structure to the CMC (Cell Membrane Complex) and repairs CMC.
-
Ethyl esterified type
An ethyl esterified derivative in order to be dissolved in alcohol. It is suitable for cosmetics without water such as aerosol or nail enamel formulations.
- Silk
